Quiet week as games get called off

Jay Rodriguez - three reserve team goals
The derby between Blackpool and Preston fell victim to the weather, Manchester City v Carlisle was postponed because of a fixture clash whilst our scheduled game against Morecambe was left without a venue with Accrington's first team having a home game against Rochdale.

The Racecourse was the place to be for most of the action. The Welsh side moved up from next to bottom with a victory over Bury. Mike Carvell scored twice before Bury got back into the game with a Richie Barker goal.

Wrexham sub Obi Anoruo restored the two goal advantage and missed a couple of opportunities to put the game beyond Bury's reach. However, a Jack Dorney goal reduced the arrears although Wrexham hung on to take all three points.

At Prenton Park a dour game looked to be heading for a goalless draw until Paul Rutherford nipped in with five minutes to go to win it for Chester. That win takes them level with the Clarets in the table although besides having a better goal difference we have two games in hand on them.

The Clarets will next be in action on Wednesday 19th December at Accrington.
