Platt goal not enough

Nicky Platt - scored with a diving header at Leeds
It was a cruel and underserved defeat with the Leeds winner coming just two minutes from time after the Clarets had looked the better side at times during the game and we certainly scored the best goal of the game when Nicky Platt got on the end of a superb Marc Pugh cross with a diving header that gave the home goalkeeper no chance.

The pre-season got underway at Bury over three weeks ago and we suffered a 1-0 defeat despite dominating the game from start to finish and we now go into the league fixtures, starting with a home game against Chester this Saturday.

Head of Youth Development Vince Overson told Clarets Mad today, “The team have got stronger and there has been an improvement in each of the games culminating in a very good performance at Leeds.”
