Our lead was reduced to two points a week and a half ago when Wrexham beat Port Vale, but the Welsh side surprisingly dropped two points at Morecambe on Saturday in a high scoring game. It all leaves us four points clear of them at the top of the league with a game in hand.
Carlisle continue to impress and they are third, a point behind Wrexham and also with a game in hand. Like Wrexham they have lost just once this season, and that was in the first game against us.
Oldham were also winners on Saturday, against Rochdale, and that keeps them in fourth place in the table whilst down near the bottom Chester had a surprise win at Wigan that has lifted them three points clear of the bottom three.
Port Vale were the other winners, beating Stockport, a second successive defeat for the Hatters who'd gone down 1-0 to Wigan a week earlier.
All the results of the last two weeks are below as well as this coming weekend's fixtures which see the Clarets at home against Bury. Following that we have the big FA Youth Cup tie against West Brom at Accrington on 10th December.
We have also corrected an error with our goalscorers. We had awarded one of the goals in the cup tie at Shrewsbury to James Craggs but have had it confirmed that this goal was in fact scored by Chris Anderson. That is reflected in the list of Burnley goalscorers shown below the fixtures.
