Morecambe give Clarets a lift

James Craggs - scored five goals for the reserves this season
City looked odds on for a win when they won a penalty just before half time. They already led 1-0 from an earlier penalty converted by James Poole, but the same player had his second spot kick saved.

Even so, they were still in front at half time before Morecambe came back to win it. Aaron Taylor scored the equaliser before Henry McStay grabbed the winner, although the home side had to hang on with then men after Fraser McLaughlan was sent off.

Carlisle remain second but they too dropped points in a 1-1 draw against Preston on Monday. It was Preston who went in front with an early goal from former Burnley trainee Rob Turner before Grant Smith scored the equaliser for the Cumbrians.

Turner was on the mark again two days later, this time scoring the only goal of the game as Preston ended a good week with a win yesterday afternoon against Bury at Radcliffe Borough.

The only other game played this week saw bottom of the table Accrington complete an easy 3-0 win against a Tranmere side who have dropped to third from bottom in the table, five points above Bury and Stanley.

Bury are our next opponents. We play them next Wednesday at Radcliffe.
