McCann goal earns reserves a point

Chris McCann - got the Clarets goal
It looked as thought it was going to be a tough game for the Clarets as the home side got on top right from the off and it was no surprise that they went in front after twenty minutes.

Instead of going on to put the game out of the Clarets' reach though it only spurred us on and we fought our way back into the game although we weren't able to get an equaliser and went in still a goal down at half time.

We started the second half as we ended the first and shortly after the restart we got ourselves level when Chris McCann headed home a Tom Ince corner.

If anyone was going to win it now it looked as if it would be Burnley but we couldn't just get that second goal and that enabled Carlisle to come storming back at us.

We held on in the last ten minutes although Michael Hale more than once had to come to the rescue with good saves.

The teams were:

Carlisle: William Coyles, Lee Andrews, Simon Grand, Brian Shelley, Chris Beech, Daniel Dillon, Brendan McGill, Paul Arnison, Karl Hawley, Carlos Roca, Simon Hackney.

Burnley: Michael Hale, Joel Pilkington, Ryan Townsend, Chris McCann, Paul Scott, Marc Pugh, Joe Booth, Nicky Platt, Tom Ince. Kyle Lafferty, Cayne Hanley. Subs not used: Rob Henry, Martin Reilly, Adam Jones.

The reserves are back in action in a week's time when we travel to Bloomfield Road to take on Blackpool.
