Massanka and Jackson goals win youth tie

Goalscorers Ntumba Massanka and Brad Jackson

The two goals came in a first half that was dominated by the young Clarets. Massanka got the first, heading home a Jackson cross and it was Jackson who added the second just a few minutes before half time, another header this time from a Jamie Frost corner.

It all looked to be going Burnley's way but there were some blows early in the second half with both Massanka and then Hamam El-Fitouri forced off with injuries in the first ten minutes. Khius Metz replaced Massanka with Billy Grogan making his debut when taking El-Fitouri's place.

An AFC Wimbledon comeback didn't look likely and we had opportunities to get a fourth, but we were left with a difficult end to the game when Egli Kaja pulled one back for the home side.

Even then it was Burnley looking the more likely and we had a shot cleared off the line before the referee added on six extra minutes.

We got through them without a problem and it is the Clarets who deservedly have won a place in the fourth round.
