Little change in the Youth Alliance

With a complete wipe out the week before, the only change in the table in the last two weeks is the one that has seen Bury climb above us into fifth place after drawing their home game against Port Vale on Saturday.

The top two should have played each other a week and a half ago. That game, at Wrexham, will now be played this afternoon. A Wrexham win will surely seem them win the league. It would leave them requiring just one point from their remaining two games and that for a team who have been beaten only once all season.

Should Preston win it would really open things up. It would take Preston back to the top on either goal difference or goals scored but would also give some hope to Walsall and Rochdale.

At the other end of the table, the Tranmere revival continues. After eleven games this season they had just one point but then things changed in the next game when they got their first win, a staggering 8-0 win against Morecambe.

Including that win they've had a return of twelve points from seven games with the latest coming on Saturday when they got their third win against Shrewsbury.

By the time of the next report we might just know who the Champions are. After today's game, all of the top teams are in action this Saturday with third place Walsall travelling to Gawthorpe for what is our last home game of the season.
