Last week of the season kicks off tonight

We've got two reserve games, both on Turf Moor, against Tranmere and Macclesfield with the first of those being played tonight with a 7:00 p.m. kick off. Between these two games the youth team have the little matter of a cup final with a trip to Deepdale on Wednesday in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup.

Our games are the only ones remaining in the Central League and the results will determine whether we finish in second or third place. Preston, who have eight points more than us, have already won the league with tonight's opponents Tranmere in second place with a two point advantage over us.

It's quite simple mathematics. Whoever wins tonight's game will be runners up and should it end in a draw then a win on Friday against Macclesfield will move us above Tranmere to clinch that second place. So, we've to win one of the two and must avoid defeat tonight.

There is no team news as yet but with suggestions that the bulk of the youth players will be rested for the cup final we could see a number of trialists taking part in tonight's game.

Below is the current Central League table.
