As we reported earlier in the week, Gawthorpe is unavailable for spectators again, something I'm not too disappointed about having had to scrap layers of mud off my shoes on my recent visit for the Carlisle win. That's meant a switch with Accrington with the away game being played tomorrow and the return in January now scheduled for Gawthorpe.

Accrington go into the game next to bottom of the league with just two points from their ten games to date. Those points have come from a shock 0-0 draw at Walsall on 9th August and from a 2-2 home draw against Carlisle five weeks ago.

They were beaten 4-0 at home last week by Oldham and in midweek were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup by Fleetwood, losing the game 1-0 at Highbury.

Burnley will be looking to get a first victory over Accrington at this level since the 2012/13 season. Then we won 5-1 away, with Jason Gilchrist grabbing a hat trick, and won the home game 5-2 when both Nathan Lowe and Jamie Frost scored twice.

Last season we weren't able to beat them in either game. We lost 1-0 at Accrington in October before being held to a 1-1 draw at Gawthorpe four weeks later with Frost scoring the Burnley goal.

One thing we can hopefully expect from the young Clarets. Although we fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tranmere in the Youth Alliance Cup, we've scored in every league game this season, netting 20 goals in the 10 games.

Kick off tomorrow at the Crown Ground is 11 a.m. Spectators are welcome but, unlike other clubs, Accrington do charge. Admission is £3 adults and £2 all concessions.
