Fletcher hat trick gives Clarets easy win against Morecambe

Wes Fletcher, who returned from injury to score a goal last week at Scunthorpe, was again on the mark, scoring twice in the first half and completing a hat trick in the second half.

His first came when he beat the offside trip to break from half way and his second, immediately after Morecambe had equalised from the penalty spot following a foul from Archie Love, came when he latched on to a ball over the Morecambe defence from full back Luke O'Neill.

Within a minute it was 3-1 when a powerful low cross from Keith Treacy was turned in by a Morecambe defender.

Fletcher completed his hat trick in the second half, placing the ball between the goalkeeper's legs and the scoring was completed with an hour gone when Joe Jackson scored from close range after the visiting goalkeeper parried a Treacy shot.

We made good use of the substitutes and lined up: Daniel Nizic, Luke O'Neil, Kevin Long, Aryn Williams, Danny Lafferty, Archie Love, Steven Hewitt, George Porter, Cameron Howieson, Keith Treacy, Wes Fletcher. Subs: Callum Jakovlevs, Alex Whitmore, Luke Conlan, Luke Gallagher, Jason Gilchrist, Joe Jackson.
