Draw for youth team

Cayne Hanley - scored the first goal at Padiham
The youngsters remain unbeaten in their pre-season build up after earning themselves a draw in a difficult and at times over physical game against Padiham last night.

We could have had the game sewn up in the opening exchanges but had to settle for just the one goal from Cayne Hanley but Padiham came back and we found ourselves 2-1 down during the second half.

Joe Booth came to the rescue with an equaliser and from then on the Clarets were the only likely winners.

It was 2-2 in the end and that follows on from the 2-1 win at Colne, a 3-3 draw at Rossendale after we had led 3-0 and a 4-0 victory over Silsden.

There’s just one game to go, at Wigan this Saturday, and then the league season starts for them the week after with a trip to Preston.

The team last night was: Mark Crossley, Rob Henry, Neal Trotman, Ryan Townsend, Martin Reilly, Marc Pugh, Joe Booth, Nicky Platt, Chris McCann (Tom Ince), Alex Taylor, Cayne Hanley.
