Draw for dev squad against Manchester United

Jason Gilchrist scored the second goal

With the Clarets young players having played this week at Derby, and the club having already confirmed the next game would be against Wrexham, this was a hastily arranged fixture after a request from United.

The Burnley team showed just one change to that which was beaten at Derby, Ntumba Massanka, who scored from the spot in the last minute of that game having come on as a substitute, replacing Brandon Wilson in the starting eleven.

It was 0-0 at half time with Jamie Frost having had our best opportunity and Will Keane, Michael's twin brother, having two chances for United.

We stepped things up in the second half. Jason Gilchrist hit the post and just before the hour we went in front when Massanka scored again.

United drew level nine minutes later with a goal from James Weir but within a minute we'd restored our lead when Gilchrist got onto a poor back pass to score.

But 12 minutes from time, United drew level again through Tom Thorpe via a deflected cross and the game ended at 2-2.

The Burnley team was: Danijel Nizic, Luke Daly, Alex Whitmore (Callum Richardson 29), Luke Conlan, Andy Nugent, Jamie Frost, Steven Hewitt, Cameron Howieson, Christian Hill (Nathan Lowe 52), Jason Gilchrist (Aiden O'Neill 72), Ntumba Massanka. Subs not used: Conor Mitchell.
