Down to third after Manchester City's easy win

James Craggs - hat trick in the last game
Two goals each from John Guidetti and Jack Redshaw, both players scoring in each half of the game, took City to the top for 24 hours whilst dropping Accrington onto the bottom on goal difference from Morecambe.

They held the leadership for just the one day because yesterday Carlisle won 1-0 at Tranmere with a goal from Gavin Rothery and that took the Cumbrians back to first place with a two point lead over City.

In the only other game played this week Blackpool beat Rochdale 4-2 at Bloomfield Road. It was a very strong and experienced Blackpool side against a young inexperienced Rochdale.

Two goals from Brett Ormerod and one from Claus Jorgensen gave the home side what looked a comfortable 3-0 lead, but Rochdale came back with two goals in quick succession from Daniel Neary and Andrew Brown. With seven minutes remaining the visitors were back in the game but Stuart Green netted a fourth for the home side.

There's just the one game next week and that sees the top two in action with Carlisle hosting Manchester City on Monday afternoon. Burnley's scheduled fixture against City on the Wednesday has been called off with the youth team now playing their Lancashire FA Youth Cup tie against Bury. That game will be played at Radcliffe Borough and it kicks off at 7:00 p.m.

Our reserves will next be in action a week next Monday when we travel to Carlisle. it will be our first game since mid-December when James Craggs hit a hat trick in a 5-2 win against Accrington.
