Development squad lose to Wigan

It took two late goals from Premier League Wigan's Rakish Bingham to turn the game in their favour after a trialist striker, from a Premier League club had given Burnley the lead midway through the second half.

Burnley had to make a change early in the game. Luke Conlan, playing in the centre of defence rather than his favoured left back, was forced off with an injury. Aryn Williams came on to play at right back with Luke O'Neill switching into the centre.

The first half was a quiet affair with Wigan coming closes through Nouha Dicko who was denied by Jon Stewart in the Burnley goal.

Into the second half and Stewart again kept us level from a Bingham shot and then got himself an assist as Burnley went in front. He cleared the ball and the trialist latched onto it and finished with a shot past the Wigan goalkeeper who then kept it down to one with a brilliant save to deny Williams.

But it all changed in the closing period of the game as Bingham equalised on 81 minutes with a shot from the edge of the box and then scored a headed winner two minutes later.

The teams were;
