Defeat in last game for reserves

Dan Brown - played his last Burnley game
It was probably just about a deserved win against another inexperienced Burnley side that saw us without three of our new professionals, Chris Anderson, Wes Fletcher and Nik Kudiersky, all with injury.

Adam Kay was back after his loan at Accrington and he, alongside Alex MacDonald provided the experience.

We had the first opportunity of the game when Dom Knowles was played in but smart goalkeeping by Tobias Johansen kept it out. But it was City who took the lead through the game's outstanding player in Slovakian Vladimir Weiss whose dad manages the national team.

Danny McDonald in the Burnley goal was forced into a couple of good saves but chances were at a premium. The nearest we came to an equaliser was from some of our long range efforts and more than once the City keeper did well to keep us out.

But it ended with a 1-0 defeat and for some of our lads now they finally get the chance to have a rest after an incredible number of games over the last month.

Dan Brown and James Craggs played their last games in Burnley colours and I wish them both well and hope to hear soon that they are fixed up with other clubs.

Tonight's teams were;

Burnley: Danny McDonald, Oliver Devenney, Dan Brown, Chris Lynch, Jake McEneaney, Ross Wilson (Joe Jackson), Alex-Ray Harvey, Adam Kay, Alex MacDonald, Dominic Knowles, James Craggs. Subs not used: Stef Ritchie, Ed Williams, Dave Lynch.
