Defeat for youth team

Rob Turner - scored our only goal in the last four games
Their fortunes have changed somewhat for the lads who, until we met Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup, had won an incredible 19 out of 21 games, with just one defeat.

The defeat to Liverpool has now been followed by three more, two in the league and an exit from the Alliance Cup, and in those four defeats we have conceded no fewer than thirteen goals whilst scoring just one, from Rob Turner at Preston.

It’s back into action again tomorrow afternoon at Gawthorpe when we play Oldham in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup, this is the toughest of draws against the current Youth Alliance leaders and the top goal scorers in the league.

It was Oldham who knocked us out of this competition last season when we went down 3-2 at Boundary Park after extra time with both our goals scored by Cayne Hanley although we exacted some revenge just a few weeks later with that epic penalty shoot out win following a 5-5 draw against them in the Alliance Cup. Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 2:00 p.m.
