The game was an opportunity for striker Wes Fletcher to get some action. He was on the bench for the FA Cup tie at Barnsley at the beginning of the year but an ankle injury soon after had ruled him out with yesterday his first action since.
Coach Simon Weatherstone said: "It was great to see Wes back and he put in a solid performance, as did the team as a whole."
It was midfielder Luke Gallagher who scored the goal in the first half and Burnley looked set to win the game until a strong Fleetwood side, managed by former Claret Graham Alexander, came back with those late goals.
