Cup action for youth team

It's a quick return to the Fylde Coast. We were there just two weeks ago against Blackpool in the league, a game we lost 1-0, but we'll be looking to turn things round this time and progress in the knock out competition.

It is one of three cup competitions the youth team take part in, the others being the Lancashire FA Youth Cup and, of course, the FA Youth Cup which has seen us enjoy some big nights in the last couple of seasons.

Last season we went out in the first round, beaten by Walsall 3-2 at Gawthorpe but it was a cruel exit. We were drawing 2-2 with goals from Luke Gallagher and Jason Gilchrist, the latter from the penalty spot.

Then, in the 95th minute as the game looked all set to be decided on penalties, Walsall scored a winner from a free kick harshly awarded against us.

We'll never know how the game would have gone had it reached a penalty shoot out, but incredibly the young Clarets had gone out of this competition on penalties in each of the previous five seasons.

Again tomorrow the game will be decided on the day with it to be decided on penalties should the score be level after 90 minutes.

Burnley are likely to add both Cameron Dummigan and Jamie Frost to the squad that has played recently.
