Jason Gilchrist scored from the penalty spot

The club have reported that the team would be playing at Stoke yesterday but that game wasn't played and instead we travelled to face the League One side at their Bradford & Bingley Pulse Flamingo Land Pension Fund Intersonic Coral Windows Valley Parade Stadium.

The home side fielded a number of players with first team experience including goalkeeper Connor Ripley, who made his league debut for Middlesbrough against the Clarets in January 2012, Raffaele De Vita, Carl McHugh, Jason Kennedy, Matt Taylor, Luke Oliver, Mark Yeates, who played for Sean Dyche at Watford, Caleb Folan and former Claret Andy Gray.

The only goal of the first half went Bradford's way when Folan headed home a Stockdill cross but Burnley were level seven minutes into the second half from the penalty spot.

Jason Gilchrist got himself clear in the box and was brought down by Ripley as he tried to go round him. Gilchrist took the penalty himself and scored.

However, Bradford City went on to score two more goals. Stockdill hit home a 25-yard effort into the bottom corner before Gray and Yeates combined to set up De Vita who rifled in a shot from the edge of the penalty box for their third and the last goal of the game.

The two teams were;

Bradford City: Connor Ripley, Matt Taylor, Luke Oliver, Carl McHugh, Raffaele De Vita, Jason Kennedy, Jack Stockdill, Mark Yeates, Andy Gray, Oliver McBurnie (James King ht), Caleb Folan (Joe Brennan 73).

Burnley: Danijel Nizic, Cameron Dummigan, Alex Coleman, Jack Errington, Luke Conlan, Luke Gallagher, Cameron Howieson, Luke Daly, Christian Hill, Jamie Frost, Jason Gallagher.
