Clarets set for Crewe date

Burnley beat Wigan on penalties at Turf Moor to win through but there will have to be a couple of changes to that team for tonight's game.

Clubs are allowed to field an overage goalkeeper and three outfield players and we took the opportunity last time to give both Kevin Long and Brian Stock some game time, but both played last night in the Capital One Cup tie against West Ham.

We have options defensively. Jack Errington could come in for Long or alternatively Alex Coleman, who played right back, could move into the centre to partner Tom Anderson with Cameron Dummigan, who was on international duty at the time of the Wigan game, playing at right back.

The midfield berth is likely to go to Cameron Howieson who, like Dummigan, was away when the last round was played.

We could line up: Alex Cisak, Cameron Dummigan, Alex Coleman, Tom Anderson, Luke Conlan, Cameron Howieson, Steven Hewitt, Archie Love, Jason Gilchrist, Ryan Noble, Jamie Frost.

Anderson is the one Burnley born player in that side but he won't be the only player born in our town on the pitch tonight. Crewe boss, and former Claret, Steve Davis has confirmed that his Burnley born son Harry will play as he returns from injury ahead of schedule.

Davis Senior said: "Harry will play against Burnley. He has trained well and looked fine and he needs a game. It will do him good to get minutes on the pitch and we'll see how he does because he is bound to be a bit rusty after missing the last four weeks.

Davis also confirmed that Max Clayton and Chuks Aneke will both feature in tonight's game which kicks off at Gresty Road at 7 p.m. Admission for both home and away supporters is free of charge.
