Dave Lynch - scored the second

We came back from a goal behind twice to turn the game on its head in the second half and won it 4-3 with four different goalscorers.

The game was delayed after the team coach suffered a break down on the way to Macclesfield, and the young Claret found themselves a goal down in under 10 minutes. Matt Hamshaw brought the ball under control on the corner of the penalty box and hit a firm shot in at the near post.

Twelve minutes before the break, the Clarets drew level when Ross Wilson did well down our left. He found Shay McCartan who in turn saw his effort blocked by Jake Vernon. The ball fell for Dave Lynch who returned the ball for McCartan to score from a narrow angle.

We were level for just two minutes before Macclesfield restored their lead as Hamshaw crossed to Vinny Mukendi who found Colin Daniel to score from close range.

Burnley turned things round in the second half. We made a great start. Both Dominic Knowles and McCartan had shots saved but it was Lynch who equalised as he hit a shot into the bottom corner after his first effort was blocked.

Three minutes later it was 3-2 through Mehdi Lazaar. He saw a shot saved by Steve Collis but wasn't going to be denied as the ball fell kindly for him.

It wasn't over and John Grant equalised for Macclesfield late in the game with a crisp effort before Adam Evans won it for Burnley within seconds of the restart as he volleyed home from the left.
