Clarets name team for youth cup tie

Brad Jackson was our scorer last season

Having gone out of the Youth Alliance Cup in the first round earlier in the season, losing 1-0 against Tranmere in a game played at the Rolls Royce Sports Ground in Barnoldswick, this is the first of two imminent cup ties in the two remaining competitions.

Early next month we travel to Kingsmeadow to face AFC Wimbledon in the FA Youth Cup, but before that it is a trip to Blackpool for this county tie. This was a competition which used to see the young players playing on the main ground but again today it will be at Blackpool's training ground as the Clarets look to make more progress in the competition than last season.

Brad Jackson netted at the same stage in 2013/14 but we were beaten 2-1 at home by Oldham and we went straight out too in the previous season, beaten 2-0 at home by Rochdale.

Our last victories in the competition were in 2011/12. Wins against Accrington and Blackpool, both by 4-0 scorelines, saw us reach the final which we lost 1-0 at Preston.

Our team for today's game is: Tony Aghayere, Hamam El-Fitouri, Waqas Azam, Shaun Hobson, Andy Nugent, Brad Jackson, Andreas Bianga, Brandon Wilson, Christian Hill, Ntumba Massanka, Khius Metz. Subs: Connor King, Vashiko Dixon, Jamal Crawford, Jamie Frost, Josh Dolling.
