Clarets go third after North End win

Leaders Wrexham were three points clear at the top before Saturday's games but their home fixture against Morecambe was postponed and that allowed Bury to draw level on points after their 3-2 away win against Oldham.

Wrexham, with a game in hand, remain the only undefeated side. They have only dropped two points all season and in six games so far have conceded only two goals. They are top with a goal difference one better than Bury's.

Although there are no changes at the top, there is a more familiar look to the league table at the bottom with Accrington Stanley back there after a 3-0 defeat at home to Blackpool. This proved to be a better day for Stanley despite the result, at least they ended the game with all eleven players on the pitch. A week ago they had no fewer than five players sent off in their 5-0 defeat at Morecambe.

They go back to the bottom because Tranmere ended their wait for a first win of the season. They were the only side without a victory but beat Shrewsbury 2-0 to climb four places.

Our next game is this coming Saturday when we play eighth place Carlisle at Gawthorpe, kick off 11:00 a.m.
