Clarets fourth as Bury go top

Wes Fletcher - fourth goal of the season
Wrexham had got their season off to a start earlier with a draw against Macclesfield and those two clubs had to sit and watch whilst the others played last weekend. With just two points dropped previously the Welsh club were top of the league, but Bury's point on Saturday has seen them go above them on goal difference.

Just one point behind that top two are the Clarets, sandwiched between regulars at the top end of the league Oldham and Preston. Both of them won to maintain their good starts to the season. Their wins came against two of the struggling sides Rochdale and Morecambe who sit above bottom club Accrington Stanley only on goal difference.

It is those two struggling sides who we play next - we travel to Morecambe this coming Saturday and a week later we are on the road again to Rochdale.

Biggest winners over the weekend were Port Vale who won 3-0 at Tranmere. It's not too long ago that Tranmere always had a very strong youth team, but they've failed to win any of their first four games this season.

Accrington 0 Wigan 2
Burnley 3 Blackpool 1
