George Porter hit the woodwork

The only goal of the game came from Curtis Thompson just before half time. Thompson is the son of current Blackpool assistant manager and former Claret Steve Thompson.

We came close to an equaliser in the second half when George Porter, returning from injury, hit a post following a ball from Cameron Howieson who was playing his first game this season having been given a month off.

Porter and Keith Treacy, out of favour and banished to the development squad, both came close during the first half but it was in the second half when we found our better form but were unable to force a draw.

The Burnley team was: Daniel Nizic, Aryn Williams (Callum Richardson 40), Alex Coleman, Jack Errington, Luke Conlan, George Porter, Steven Hewitt, Archie Love, Keith Treacy (Adam Evans 45), Cameron Howieson (Luke Daly 77), Shay McCartan.
