Clarets bow out of the FA Youth Cup

Tony Aghayere had a busy night in goal

Forest took the lead on 27 minutes through Oliver Burke who scored from close range after we failed to clear a corner, but that led to our best spell of the game after a difficult start and we were close to an equaliser more than once in the remainder of the first half.

But it was Forest who stepped it up after the break. Tyler Walker got the crucial second on 65 minutes and the scoreline might have been worse for us but for some good saves by goalkeeper Tony Aghayere.

That's the last of the cup competitions for us this season having gone out of the Youth Alliance Cup to Tranmere and the Lancashire FA Youth Cup against Blackpool.

But we've 15 league games still to play between now and the end of the season.

The lads have done well to get to the last 16 of the competition.

The teams tonight were;

Nottingham Forest: Erlandsson, Yates, Kelly, Crookes, Worrall, Iacovitti, Burke, Cash, McDonagh (Walton 80), Walker, Gamblen. Subs: Dearle, Otim, Austin, Nielsen.

Burnley: Tony Aghayere, Hamam El-Fitouri, Waqas Azam, Shaun Hobson, Andy Nugent, Brad Jackson, Andreas Bianga, Brandon Wilson, Christian Hill (Jamie Frost 60), Ntumba Massanka (Josh Dolling 72), Khius Metz (Jamal Crawford 76). Subs not used: Billy Grogan, Vashiko Dixon.
