Carlisle up to second

They played last Friday at Accrington and won 3-1 to move above Wrexham on goal difference. Both of them have now drawn two and lost one of their eleven games and that's left them both five points behind the Clarets.

A 2-0 win at Shrewsbury has helped move Oldham back into fourth place although they remain four points behind the two clubs above them. They are the second highest scorers in the league although with thirty have still scored eleven less than us.

The biggest climbers in recent weeks have been Preston and a win at Bury in a high scoring game has seen them move into the top half of the table. And down towards the bottom Chester's surprise win against Port Vale has seen them move above Blackpool. Only the strugglers Morecambe and Accrington are now below the Seasiders who are having a difficult season.

For most clubs this coming weekend sees them in action in the second round of the Youth Alliance Cup, although there are two league games and a win for Wrexham at home to Port Vale would see them move within two points of us at the top of the league.

Our game is in the cup away to Shrewsbury and this kicks off at 12:00 noon on Saturday at the Sports Village, Shrewsbury.
