Carlisle top youth league

It is difficult to believe that we could be just a week from Christmas, having dropped only two points all season, to find ourselves knocked off the top of the league. But Carlisle have played two games more than us and are in a good run of form themselves.

This latest win is their eleventh in fourteen games and they are currently on a thirteen game unbeaten run, this after we'd beaten them 4-2 up at Carlisle on the opening day of the season.

It was one of only four games played last week and wasn't the only goal to produce nine goals. Wigan returned to form with a 6-3 win over Port Vale whilst in the other games there were wins for both Blackpool and Shrewsbury.

Blackpool, the only team to take a point from us, are still struggling in the league but that win has taken them up a place to fourth from bottom.

There's a limited programme this coming weekend with Burnley at home to Oldham in a match that was called off on its original date in September.
