Carlisle close the gap

Carlisle secure a 3-1 home win against next to bottom Morecambe and that has taken them above Wrexham who have been right up there in second place all season. It leaves them just two points behind Burnley although we do have a game in hand.

Only two other games were played this week, at Blackpool and Chester with Blackpool beating Rochdale and Chester losing to Walsall. Our game fell victim to the weather as did the games at Macclesfield, Oldham, Tranmere and Wrexham.

We're at Gawthorpe again this coming Saturday, weather permitting, when we play Tranmere in the league. But before that we have a big date with West Brom this Wednesday in the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup. This tie will be played at Accrington and kicks off at 7:00 p.m.

It's a pity the game couldn't be played on the Turf, but if you get the chance get yourself down to Accy and give the lads some support. They are having a terrific season.

Below are the results from last Saturday, all this week's Youth Alliance League fixtures and an up to date list of our goalscorers so far this season.
