Bury defeat sees youth team drop

The result has seen us drop to seventh in the table and now some distance behind the top teams who we had, recently, got within one point of.

The one team who moved above us was Preston who beat their local rivals Blackpool 2-0. North End now have two points more than us and have moved into fifth place having also passed Tranmere who were without a game.

The top two both played. Leaders Wigan, as expected, romped to an easy win against bottom team Morecambe, but there was a big shock for Rochdale who weren't able to remain level on points after they suffered a 5-4 defeat at the hands of strugglers Shrewsbury.

The only other game played last Saturday was between two of the lower placed teams Carlisle and Port Vale and it was Carlisle who came out on top with a 2-1 win and that has taken them to within a point of Vale.

This week we'll have the chance to get back to winning ways with a trip to Blackpool which will give us a chance to avenge the cup defeat there last week and Saturday will be our last game before we travel to play AFC Wimbledon in the FA Youth Cup on the following Thursday.

Below are last week's results, this week's fixtures, our goalscorers and the current league table.
