Danny Ings played the first half

Clarets' boss Eddie Howe made the trip down to watch the game, obviously wanting to check on Danny Ings, making his second appearance following his return from knee surgery, and trialist Danny Lafferty.

Ings played the first half when Wolves, fielding a much more experienced team, were the better side, but Burnley did step things up after the interval.

Lafferty played for almost an hour and impressed. The attacking left -back almost scored too, seeing his shot knocked onto the post.

Wolves' first goal came from a trialist of their own, former Norwich City midfielder Mark Fotheringham, whilst the second was an own goal from Alex MacDonald.

Burnley did have some opportunities with both Joe McKee and Steven Hewitt coming close but weren't able to pull a goal back.

We lined up: Brian Jensen, Alex MacDonald, Alex Coleman, Tom Anderson, Danny Lafferty (Archie Love 58), Zavon Hines, Joe McKee, Dave Lynch, Ross Wilson, Dominic Knowles (Shay McCartan 58), Danny Ings (Steven Hewitt 45).
