We got things underway on Friday afternoon, winning 4-0 at Bury to give us our first win of the year and then the three games on Saturday all ended all square.
Rochdale versus Oldham ended 1-1 and that means Rochdale went above Wrexham on goal difference although the Welsh club now have a game in hand. Both remain five points behind leaders Preston.
Bottom club Tranmere continued their revival. Their goalless draw at Port Vale was their third game without defeat, and the final game saw two of the strugglers, Accrington and Blackpool, fight out a 3-3 draw.
Three clubs from our league were involved in the Northern Semi-Finals of the Youth Alliance Cup and they provided goals galore.
Carlisle came out 5-4 winners at home to Fleetwood. The Cumbrians will now face Walsall in the Northern Final after they won 7-2 at Notts County.
There is virtually a full fixture list this weekend with Burnley at home against Macclesfield, the game kicking off at Gawthorpe at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
