Oldham started the season with a 5-0 win at Morecambe and followed it up last Saturday with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Preston, whilst the Clarets have also hit a four and a five in their first three games.

We weren't the only big winners last weekend and Bury took pride of place winning 5-0 at the seaside against Blackpool whilst Rochdale hit Accrington for four.

Altogether there were 31 goals scored in the nine games and besides the four big winners there were also victories for Stockport, Walsall, Wigan and Wrexham.

Burnley top the league with nine points, two clear of second place Wrexham. But both of us have benefited from having played an extra game. We've got 100% record but there aret three teams with two wins from two. They are Oldham, Walsall and Wigan.

Kick off this Saturday for the Oldham gams at Gawthorpe is 11:00 a.m. and it gives fans the one opportunity to see the Clarets in action with the first team having no game because of the international break. I'm certain there are going to be goals for us to see. Games between Burnley and Oldham usually bring lots of goals and the way these two have started we can expect the same again.
