Fernando Guerrero - in outstanding form in the win over Bolton
Our game, along with two others, was played on Monday night when a Steven Thompson penalty and a late goal from Joe McKee saw us to victory against Bolton at the LFA Headquarters in Leyland, this after Bolton had led from a first half goal through Adam Blakeman.

On the same night the other two games were both drawn. Blackburn went in front in their home game against Manchester City with a Gavin Gunning header but James Poole brought City level just before half time.

City dominated the second half at Leigh but couldn't find a breakthrough and had to settle for a point after this 1-1 draw.

The score was the same at Everton in their game against Sunderland. Everton should have gone in front when they were awarded a penalty but Jose Baxter saw his effort go straight to the goalkeeper.

They paid the price almost instantly with Robbie Weir scoring for Sunderland right on half time but the home side came back to draw with an equaliser from Cody Arnoux.

Tuesday night saw Manchester United move closer to leaders Liverpool with a win at Hull. Serb Zoran Tosic gave United the lead with a brilliant solo effort, going past a number of home defenders before slotting the ball home.

Despite their dominance it looked as though they might have to settle for a point when Mark Cullen equalised with just thirteen minutes to go but Tosic was on hand again in stoppage time to steer United to victory.

Last night should have seen Wigan play host to Liverpool but the game at Robin Park was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

Burnley are up to fourth in the table now and face Everton at Accrington, weather permitting, next Monday for what will be only the second game played at home all season.
