Bring on Fulham

Ali Akbar - on the scoresheet
It’s a fantastic result for the young Clarets who won through with two goals from fit again Cayne Hanley and one from first year apprentice Ali Akbar and it sets us up nicely for a home tie against the Premiership club.

Wins in this competition have been few and far between in recent years and our last success came when Chris Waddle was manager of Burnley, a 2-0 1st Round win over Wrexham at Turf Moor in 1997. Ironically we went out in the next round that season at Hull.

The tie against Fulham must be played on or before Saturday 21st January, and let’s hope that the club stage this match at Turf Moor to give supporters a chance of watching the youths, rather than moving it to Accrington, or even Rossendale as they did with a youth game last season.

Well done to the lads tonight, fantastic result on top of what has been a fantastic season so far.
