Bottom club beat Clarets in Alliance

Tom Blackler - currently out injured
It's proving to be very difficult for our youngsters since the older members of the side were released. It means that those six, along with Kyle Lafferty and Chris McCann, and the injured Tom Blackler are all ruled out of the squad that started the season.

It means that the side's most experienced players are first year apprentices and the team is being made up with schoolboys from the centre of excellence who are being found out because of a lack of experience.

The defeat means we have dropped into fourth place in the league, Port Vale went above us with a comprehensive win over Macclesfield, and the likelihood is we will are only likely to drop further. From such a fantastic first half of the season the lads are now suffering but it is experience for them.

Elsewhere in the league, it was no surprise to see wins for Oldham and Preston although top of the league Oldham did have a quiet day, winning just 2-1 at Wrexham.

Preston meanwhile kept going with a 4-1 home win against Tranmere, although their chances of catching the leaders are remote to say the least.
