Blake heaps praise on Harvey

Fletcher took the headlines, but it was captain Alex-Ray Harvey who received the plaudits from Blake. For the second time in a week he was in outstanding form in the centre of midfield and again, like Fletcher, back in the side after returning from a loan, in his case Fleetwood.

Blake admitted to being pleased with the way the players kept going. "It was a case of us being patient and trying to keep doing the right things and it showed in the end," he said.

"We kept going, kept being composed, tried to keep possession and got a couple of goals in the last few minutes. It highlighted why you have to keep doing the right things, even if you are losing the game, and it shows that happens if you do."

Blake enthused about the performance of Harvey, who had a couple of skirmishes in the midfield with Wrexham's Glen Little. He said: "If you are going to single out one player today I think you look at Alex-Ray Harvey. He dug in, covered a lot of ground and tried to get on the ball and make the team tick.

"He is hitting a good level of consistency now. His attitude has never been in doubt but players can lose their way a little bit sometimes. Alex has come back and responded very positively in training and in games."
