Blackpool and Oldham push on at the top

We reported Blackpool's win earlier, against the Clarets, and Oldham were also comfortable winners, beating Shrewsbury 3-0 at home.

The results have taken Blackpool to 43 points, five ahead of Oldham who themselves have five points more than Walsall, but Blackpool have played 18 games, Oldham have played 17 and Walsall have played 16.

That's led the Football League this week to publish the latest league table differently. Their North East Division remains unchanged but the North West Division is now listed based on points per game rather than total of points. It makes no difference at the top of the league but it does move us up one place.

I've listed the league table below in the traditional order but based on points per game (and we have 1.25) we move above both Preston an Wigan yet drop below Accrington, leaving us in 9th place and not 10th as shown.

I'm assuming that, given Wigan have played 20 games and Macclesfield only 13, the league believe the fixtures might not be completed by the end of the season, but for now I'll leave the table as it was.

In the other games, Rochdale played twice and scored ten goals to move themselves level on points with Walsall, and in the one remaining game played it was a point each for Preston and Bury.

Last week's result, this week's fixtures, Burnley's goalscorers and the current table are all below.
