Big win for youth team

Tommy Taylor - scored with a superb 30-yard volley
The first goal came midway through the first half and it was a superb goal scored by Tommy Taylor. Having flicked the ball up he volleyed home from fully 30-yards from goal.

That proved to be the only goal of a first half that Burnley had gone on to dominate, but it didn't take us long to double that tally in the second half. In the very first minute James Taylor got the second when he turned in a Dom Knowles cross.

Now in full command of the game Knowles himself got on the scoresheet twice. He scored following a cross from left back Jake McEneaney and then scored at the second attempt after running on to a ball from Michael King, who had made his return from injury via the subs bench twenty minutes from the end.

Joe McKee got the fifth after a great team move before Wrexham scored a consolation in stoppage time.

It was certainly a result that got the Port Vale game out of the system and was an eighth win in the last ten league games for the young Clarets.

The team was: Danny McDonald, Dean Overson, Neil Yadolahi, Tom Anderson, Jake McEneaney, Ross Wilson, Joe McKee, Dave Lynch, Tommy Taylor (Michael King 70), Dom Knowles, James Taylor (Joe Jackson 60). Subs not used: J Thewlis, Curtis Woods.
