Back up to second

Captain Nicky Platt - has led his side to 13 wins out of 15
The 5-2 win ensured we went back above North End who were above us only on goal difference but we remain eight points behind leaders Oldham although we do have three games in hand.

Although we were the highest scorers on Saturday with five, there’s still no stopping Oldham who added another four. They have now scored an incredible 59 goals in 15 games, almost four per game.

There’s no doubt that it has been an excellent first half of the season for the lads who, apart from dropping only five points in the league have also progressed in both the FA Youth Cup and the Youth Alliance Cup. All in all we have won 13 from 15 games and have scored 38 goals in those games.

Needless to say Marc Pugh is the leading scorer but he’ll have to keep an eye out for Cayne Hanley who is back fit again after a back injury and has scored five himself in the last three games.

It will be January before they are in action again. The scheduled game for this afternoon against Wrexham has now been put back to the end of next month and so our next game is a home game against Shrewsbury on 7th January.

Back to the goals, and our scorers to date are: Marc Pugh 15, Kyle Lafferty 6, Cayne Hanley 5, Connor Smith 3, Rob Turner 3, Jay Rodriguez 2, Ali Akbar 1, Nicky Platt 1, Martin Reilly 1, own goals 1.
