Avon Calling - Millers win only game

Paul Warne - two more goals for Rotherham
With the games at Oldham, Barnsley, Burnley and Walsall/Hednesford all called off, it was left to Tranmere and Rotherham to provide the league’s only action at Vauxhall Motors Rivacre Park on Wednesday night.

The balmy influence of the Mersey estuary was clearly to Rotherham’s liking as they recorded their third win in a row, thrashing Tranmere 5-0. Mark Robins and Paul Warne continued their recent goalscoring exploits with two more each, with midfielder Stewart Talbot completing the rout.

The Millers have done us something of a favour here as this result puts Tranmere well into the relegation dogfight. Our next two fixtures are against the Rovers home and away, so we now have a real opportunity to get out of the bottom two relegation positions once and for all, starting on Wednesday evening at the Turf. Make sure you get along to cheer the lads on: they surely have to win a home game sometime!
