Another quiet reserve week

The two clubs had met at first team level at the City of Manchester Stadium on Tuesday night when goals from Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor gave City a 2-0 win in front of over 42,000.

The score was the same the following night for the reserve game, although this time there were just 350 there to witness it at Ewen Fields, home of Hyde United.

Despite dominating the game, City had to wait until stoppage time at the end of the first half to take the lead when a weak back header from Bolton's Chris Stokes let in Alex Nimely to score his third goal of the season.

They got the second with just under twenty minutes remaining, and this time the scorer was Norwegian Abdi Ibrahim and that win has taken them into second place.

Burnley will be hoping to get back into action next week when we entertain Liverpool on Tuesday. This is the scheduled away game, having switched the home game to Tranmere earlier in the season. If it goes ahead it will be just our second reserve game at Accrington all season.
