Another league win for youth team

A third hat trick of the season for Jason Gilchrist

Accrington held us in the first half although we did miss a number of chances, but after the break it was very much a different story.

Luke Gallagher gave us the lead just four minutes into the half, scoring from distance, but we were knocked back six minutes later when Stanley equalised.

That only served to push the young Clarets forward and particularly striker Jason Gilchrist who netted his third hat trick of the season. He ran on to a Lewis Nuttall pass for his first, shot from an angle for his second with seven minutes remaining and then took advantage of a mistake from the home goalkeeper to complete the hat trick.

There was still time for a fifth, scored by substitute Jamie Frost, his third goal of the season.

The team was: Callum Jakovlevs, Cameron Dummigan, Charlie Holt, Alex Whitmore, Luke Conlan, Evan Galvin (Brad Jackson 70), Luke Gallagher, Luke Daly, Kevin Ly, Lewis Nuttall (Jamie Frost 65), Jason Gilchrist. Subs not used: Conor Mitchell, Christian Hill, Nathan Lowe.
