Oldham still have the two games in hand and this win has now taken them within four points of the leaders Walsall who were beaten for the first time this season.

The weekend fixtures kicked off with two teams unbeaten but both records have now gone. Tranmere, whose first team are now bottom of League Two, were  the other unbeaten side but they fell to defeat at Rochdale and it is a result that has cost them second place.

Rochdale have taken that spot with Tranmere dropping down to sixth. Oldham have also gone above them, as have both Bury, winners against Fleetwood and Preston who drew at Shrewsbury.

Despite winning, we fell a place in the table. We were above Blackpool on goals scored before kick off. However, Blackpool won their game against Port Vale by two goals which took them above us on goal difference.

Down at the bottom of the table there are still no wins for either Accrington and Morecambe with the latter still awaiting their first point of the season. Both were beaten 4-0 by teams in the bottom half of the table. Accrington lost at Wrexham and Morecambe suffered the same fate at Wigan.

This weekend we travel to Preston and no matter what results we get this Saturday, Walsall will still be top. Only Rochdale and Bury can go ahead of them should they lose, and for Bury it would take a big switch in goal difference. Rochdale are one of the two sides, along with Shrewsbury, who have no game.
