Wes Fletcher's goal gave us a 1-0 win in a one sided game against Blackpool whilst up in Cumbria Ryan Bowman's two goals ensured Oldham dropped their first points of the season against Carlisle and that's seen them drop to fourth place in the league.

We're now four points clear of second place Wrexham. They had an excellent 3-1 win over Rochdale to continue their good start to the season. The goal conceded was only the third they have conceded this season and they have the best defensive record in the league.

Another side to watch out for are undoubtedly Wigan and their 2-1 win at Chester is their fourth win in five games. They have dropped only two points to date and are in third place. Like Oldham they have a game in hand on us and Wrexham.

Port Vale were the highest scorers on Saturday, they hit Stockport for five and there were also wins for Bury, Walsall and Tranmere.

Burnley are on their travels this coming weekend when we play Bury as we look to make it seven out of seven. Last Saturday's results are below with the forthcoming league fixtures along with the Burnley goalscorers.
