A good day for the youth team

Joe McKee - scored the winner against Manchester United
Manchester United hosted the tournament in which teams played three games of 40 minutes duration, and the young Clarets won two of them including an opening victory against the hosts.

Joe McKee, who joined the Clarets early last season from Livingston, scored the only goal of the game in that first game against United, and it was the same 1-0 scoreline that saw us beat Blackpool, this time new Irish recruit Shay McCartan scoring, his second goal in two days.

Unfortunately we were beaten by Crewe in the afternoon, going down 2-0, on a day when Terry Pashley and Andy Farrell gave the new first years much of the action.

There are further friendlies to follow against Bolton, Stockport and Everton before the tournament in Portugal at the beginning of August.
