Clarets Madder and Dutch international football analyst Mark Boender reports that Burnley are having a serious attempt at adding attacking midfielder Hakim Zyech to their ranks.

The 23 year old Moroccan international spurned the chance to play for Holland, opting to play for his home nation instead. He has scored twice in six games in his fledging international career.

Ziyech is a left footed attacking midfielder who scored on 17 occasions last season in 33 appearances for a FC Twente side that presently face turbulent financial times.

Financial irregularities saw the Royal Dutch Football Association demote the former champions to the Jupiler League. Following appeals however FC Twente were reinstated to the Eredivisie but suffer fines and transfer blockades in the wake of the scandal.

Ziyech is currently valued at £10 million pounds and it appears the Clarets are prepared to meet that valuation. The young international is described in Dutch footballing circles as a "fantastic player with a little bit of an attitude".

Ziyech is a renowned deadball specialist and can play in a variety of roles. He can play out wide or in his favoured number 10 position.

He averages a goal every two games playing as an attacking midfielder. It is widely reported that new England boss Sam Allardyce was keen on taking Hakim to the Stadium of Light prior to his acceptance of the England job.

Sean Dyche is known to be keen to add to his midfield options. Hakim Ziyech is keen to try his luck in the English Premier League. This might just be a footballing marriage made in heaven? (TEC).
