Zenden to join Alnwick, Garvan and Cousin at Turf Moor

With the transfer deadline looming the Sun decided to confirm that the Spurs goalkeeper and the Ipswich midfielder were heading for Turf Moor, both in £1 million deals. From what I can gather neither of them did arrive.

That was bettered last Wednesday with their lead article confirming the loan signing of Daniel Cousin from Hull, almost 24 hours after the rest of the football world learned the deal was off.

Today they have linked us with Bolo Zenden, the former Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Liverpool player who we are competing with Hull to sign. The 33-year-old Dutch winger has recently left French club Marseille.

Are we set to try and bring Zenden to Turf Moor? I don't know but I'm not sure I'd suggest it was any more likely given where the news has broken today.
