The lads prepare for the game at Boston in new tracksuits supplied by Earby Clarets

It’s a special weekend for the youth team who have the rare treat of travelling overnight to the game, courtesy of sponsorship from David Fishwick LDV Centre, and this will allow them to take to the field refreshed rather than having made an early departure from Burnley.

Not for the first time in recent years the Clarets will be turning out at an RAF base with tomorrow’s game being played at RAF Cranwell and kicking off at 11:00 a.m. If you are in the area then why not go and give the youngsters some support.

We won through to this tie with a 1st round win at Rotherham whilst Boston were fortunate to have a bye and league form suggests we are favourites to win through to the next round. We are currently top of the North & Midlands West Conference with eight wins from eight games whilst Boston are struggling in the North & Midlands East Conference, they are next to bottom with just four points from their eight games.

The last time we played on an air base was just under four years ago when the reserves took on Wolves at RAF Cosford. That was a good night for the Clarets, we won 5-2 with Dimitri Papadopoulos hitting his only hat trick for the club.

Best of luck to the lads for tomorrow and again congratulations on your superb start to the season.
