Youths in action

Wes Fletcher - scored in the first win against Accrington
It's just our second game of the season in the league, having got underway two weeks ago with a 4-2 win over neighbours Accrington Stanley in a game that was played at the home of Clitheroe.

Goals from West Fletcher, Alex McDonald(2) and Rob Turner ensured the victory and it was the same three players who netted in last week's 4-0 friendly win against Bradford City, this time Fletcher netting the brace.

Our opponents this morning Bury also got off to a good start, they beat Blackpool 5-2 in their opening game and so we can expect a tough game this morning against a side who will field Ash Young who moved from Burnley to Bury in the summer to complete his apprenticeship.

Early league tables are meaningless, but the reserves too have made a 100% start with wins over Manchester City and Blackpool and we currently sit top of that league after two games with Morecambe and Tranmere also having won their opening two games.

Kick off for the youth team this morning is 11:00 a.m.
